Choosing a Crochet Flower Bouquet

A crochet bouquet is engineered, not arranged. Each bloom is worked as its own piece, wired so it holds a natural curve, then grouped so the silhouette reads well from the front and the side. Understanding that structure makes it much easier to describe what you want.

How many stems you actually need

Stem count drives the whole look far more than flower type does. A small posy of a handful of stems is a desk or bedside piece. A mid-size bouquet fills a standard vase and reads clearly from across a room. A bridal-scale bouquet needs enough stems to hold a domed shape in the hand without gaps.

If you are unsure, tell us where the bouquet will sit and send a photo of the vase or the space. We will suggest a stem count rather than asking you to guess one.

Matching a wedding or interior palette

Work from three tones: a dominant, a support and an accent. Bouquets built on a single flat colour tend to look synthetic; three related tones plus green foliage read as real flowers.

For weddings, send the bridesmaid fabric and any stationery. Because the bouquet never wilts, it usually becomes the keepsake displayed afterwards, so it is worth matching properly.

Flower types and what they suit

Roses hold layered petals and photograph beautifully close up, so they suit romantic and bridal work. Tulips have a soft, simple silhouette that suits pastel interiors and spring gifting. Sunflowers bring scale and a textured centre, ideal as a statement piece. Lavender adds slender vertical lines and works as filler or as a calm, minimal bunch on its own.

Care and longevity

Keep bouquets out of direct, constant sunlight to protect the dye, and dust with a soft brush or a cool hairdryer on its lowest setting. Cotton blooms can be reshaped gently with steam held at a distance. Stored in tissue in a box, a bouquet keeps for years.
