How a Custom Crochet Commission Works

The more of this you can include up front, the faster we can quote accurately.

• One or two reference images — a sketch, a screenshot or a photo of the real object.
• The colours, ideally as a photo of a swatch, paint chip or garment.
• Approximate finished size, and where the piece will live.
• Any personalisation: name, date, initials, wording.
• Your deadline, and whether it is fixed or flexible.
• Quantity, if this is a wholesale, corporate or event order.

Because every piece is made to order, we quote individually rather than listing a price. A quote reflects the yarn specified, the number of separate elements to be worked and assembled, the finishing, and the timeline. Repeat quantities usually reduce the per-piece figure because the pattern only has to be worked out once.

You will always get the full figure, including insured worldwide shipping, before anything begins.

For anything complex we confirm the palette in writing and, on request, send progress photos before assembly. That is the right moment to adjust tone or scale — changes after final assembly usually mean remaking an element.

Bespoke work runs longer than a catalogue piece because the first version is also the prototype. For fixed-date gifts — weddings, births, anniversaries — enquire as early as you can and we will tell you plainly whether the date is achievable.
