Definition
Shetland wool comes from Shetland sheep and is prized for a fine, lofty fleece that holds together at very low weights.
Overview
Lace spun from it opens dramatically after blocking and then blooms, softening hard stitch edges into a haze.
It is grippier than merino, which helps lace hold its blocked shape rather than relaxing back.
