Popcorn Stitch
A group of complete stitches folded forward and locked shut — the boldest raised texture.

Definition
Work five or so complete double crochets into one stitch, then draw the last through the first to snap the group into a popcorn.
Overview
Because every stitch is finished before closing, popcorns are chunkier and firmer than bobbles or puffs.
They hold their shape well in cotton, which makes them useful in décor rather than garments.
Characteristics
- Very pronounced relief
- Firm and structured
- Slower to work
Typical uses
- Cushion covers
- Baskets
- Winter blankets
- Wall hangings
