Beads are pre-strung onto the working yarn and pushed into place as stitches are made, so they become part of the fabric.

Definition
Beaded crochet incorporates beads directly into stitches, most often by threading all beads onto the yarn before work begins and sliding one up at each placement point.
Overview
Two families exist. Surface beading places beads on a flat fabric for edgings, cuffs and trims. Bead crochet rope works a narrow tube where beads sit on the outside, producing the dense spiral necklaces associated with contemporary beadwork.
Bead size must match the thread: a bead hole that is too small will shred the yarn, and one that is too large lets the bead flip to the wrong side.
