Definition
Corner-to-corner crochet works small blocks — usually three double crochets and a chain — on the diagonal, increasing to the widest point and then decreasing.
Overview
Each block is effectively one pixel, so any grid chart translates directly. Blankets grow quickly because each row is short at the start and colour changes happen at block boundaries.
Popular for photo-style and lettering blankets. Its main limitations are a slightly bumpy diagonal texture and the ends created by frequent colour changes.
Characteristics
- Diagonal construction from a single corner
- Block-per-pixel charted colourwork
- Fast to work in worsted or chunky yarn
Typical uses
- Graphic blankets
- Lettered keepsakes
- Cushion panels
- Baby throws
