Definition
Double-ended crochet, also called cro-hook or crochet on the double, uses a double-pointed long hook so loops can be worked off from either end with a different colour.
Overview
The fabric is genuinely double-sided: one colour dominates on each face, and patterns can be mirrored so the reverse is a colour negative of the front.
It creates a thick, warm and completely reversible fabric, which suits blankets, scarves and pot holders where both sides are seen.
Characteristics
- Double-pointed long or cabled hook
- Two colours, one per face
- Thick, warm, fully reversible fabric
Typical uses
- Reversible scarves
- Blankets
- Pot holders and mats
